CHARLIE HIGGINS

Charlie joined the SpudSeed.com office May 2005 to provide technical information and customer support.

Education:BS in Chemistry and Biology
MS work in Sugar beet Nematodes
Ph.D. work in wheat genetics

Worked at Colorado State University for ten years as research assistant, Extension Agronomist, and Certified Seed Inspector. Charlie then worked at NAPI (Navajo Agricultural Products Industry) for eleven years.

Charlie, Steve Myers, and Dave Holm were greatly involved in the market development of the chip variety Chipeta. Charlie and Steve developed relationships with potato breeders in Germany, Holland and Ireland to screen new varieties for market windows for quality and disease resistance. Among these varieties are Avalanche, Crispin, Golden Sunburst, Molli, Snow White, and Valisa.

He has done a great deal of consulting, work in introducing new varieties and training farm managers in Thailand, China, Australia, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Venezuela and all over the US.

 
 

 ANDREA WHITE

Andrea started with SpudSeed.com in October 2004. She does SpudSeed's marketing, web site, accounting, and customer support.

She graduated from Monte Vista High school in 1999, and is currently finishing college at Adams State College majoring in Accounting and Finance.
